You appear to be offline

Support for a chip is downloaded from the CMSIS-Pack servers the first time you pick it, and nothing on this machine is reaching the internet. Nothing was installed and nothing was changed.

PACK_NO_NETWORK

Symptoms

  • Adding a chip fails at once, and nothing on the machine reaches the internet.
  • Chips marked as needing a download are the only ones affected — built-in parts still apply.
  • The board itself connects and reads normally.

Likely causes

  • The machine is offline: no Wi-Fi, an unplugged cable, or a link that is up but carries nothing.
  • A captive portal — hotel, airport, guest network — that has not been signed into yet.
  • The whole machine is firewalled off by policy, not just this application.

How to fix it

  1. Reconnect, then pick the chip again

    Nothing was installed and nothing was changed, so there is no half-finished download to clean up first.

  2. Use a chip that needs no download

    Targets pyOCD ships are marked as needing no pack in the chip list. They apply with no connection at all and are enough to connect, monitor and flash a supported part.

  3. Prime the cache on a machine that is online

    For a bench that stays offline, pick the chip once on a connected machine and copy the cache folder across. The SDK reads it on the next start.
